Intermicronational Esperanto Association

His Serene Highness announced this week, the creation of his Intermicronational Esperanto Association. It is His Serene Highness’s hope that Treisenberg will take to Esperanto as a second language.

Gotzborg Snub

Heated debate and political arguments reigned in Gotzborg earlier this week, as The Sovereign Princess came to blows with the Gotzborg Chancellor, The Duke of Altamore. The matter was dealt with, and it was revealed that the cause of the argument was a general misunderstanding and apologies were exchanged all round.

Treisenberg Royal Tour Begins

The Heir Apparent, His Highness Prince Alois began his Royal Tour this week, firstly visiting Stormark. The aim of the tour is to bring Treisenberg into contact with other Monarchist Nations. Gotzborg was struck off of the list, but was soon added once international problems were resolved.

Council of State discusses Gay Marriage

The Treisenberg Council of State is currently voting on “The Equal Marriages Act 2005”. This Act will allow gay marriage within the Principality, and gives gay couples full marital rights, once a form of marriage has taken place. Currently, there is much debate over Article 3 of the bill, which would mean, if passed, heavy fines and prosecution for Religious Buildings, which refused to marry same-sex couples.

Route to the Sea Closed

The Grand Duchy of Ravaria has claimed the land in the east south of San Martin and north of the German Democratic Republic, which cuts of Treisenberg’s access to the sea. Hopes of Expansion eastward for Treisenberg are in danger, if the land claim goes ahead.

Treisenberg Cultural Association

Herr Gustav Von Schaan has established the Treisenberg Cultural Association. The Sovereign Prince gave his full support and work began immediately, with detailed maps being issued.

The Royal Engagement and Wedding

The Night Before the Big Day

Guests arrived in vast splendour on the evening of the 16th. The Emperor of Stormark drove into the gates of Nendeln in his State Carriage, surrounded by his Guards. Before he entered the Palace, he turned to wave to the Crowds, already assembled for the next days events. The Lady Justice of Stormark, Dame Gudrun, Duchess of Vesteralen, soon joined the Emperor to a huge cheer and was presented with a bouquet from a well-wisher.
The Guests were taken into the Princess Margo Reception Room, rather than the State Reception Room. The Master of the Household explained, “His Serene Highness wanted a close, friendly atmosphere, rather than a stiff formal one in the State Reception Room which tends to echo. The State Reception Room will be used on the wedding day however”.
Special Pink Champagne was served in crystal champagne flutes with the new F and A monogram engraved on them. The guests exchanged stories and jokes until the hour of midnight, when His Serene Highness decided to retire to bed. With kisses and good luck wishes, the Royal Group went their separate ways to their rooms.
It was reported that during the evenings talking, the Baroness spoke of a new charity venture, “The International Charity Commission” but no confirmation has been received.

The Royal Engagement was announced on the 13th February 2005, and a date for the wedding was immediately released. It was to be held on the 17th February, and the nation caught wedding fever, with large crowds forming at the gates of Nendeln Palace and Hertsberg Castle, the home of the Baroness Von Hertsberg. They gave the Baroness flowers and bouquets, gifts and cuddly toys.

Around the Country, the Engagement Emblem was flown on flags, erected in shop windows and painted as a mural on walls. It shows the Sovereign Prince’s Coat of Arms and the Baroness’s Coat of Arms.

Wherever the Sovereign Prince went, he was cheered and clapped, the public rejoicing and congratulating their leader.

The Sovereign Prince was said to be ‘very touched’ by the outpouring of love and affection and as proof of his devotion to his people, he replied personally to all the letters he received congratulating him on his engagement.

The Royal Wedding

At 10.00am, HSH The Sovereign Prince left Nendeln Palace, and made his way in the Golden State Carriage, to the Castle of Gonisberg. This was the Prince’s childhood home and remained his Official Residence until 1994 when he moved into Nendeln as Sovereign Prince. Whilst at the Castle, The Prince spent time in the Chapel, and took time to stroll through the gardens, finally making his way to the graves of his parents, The Count and Countess of Gonisberg. At 10.15, the Sovereign Prince went down into the Ceremonial Vaults and ordered the Chief Footman to carry the Carved Wooden Box, which houses the Crown of Princess Alexandra III. The Box is carved from the great Oak, which once stood in the grounds of Nendeln Palace. The crowds gathered at the closed gates of the castle waited with baited breath, as Two Guardsmen pulled them open. The Gold State Carriage stood in the forecourt of the castle and the Sovereign Prince climbed up and took his seat. As the horses began a slow trot, the Chief Footman followed behind holding the box containing one of the most precious treasures of the nation.

As the Carriage neared the Gates of Nendeln, it stopped and the Sovereign Prince climbed out. The carriage drove away, and the gates of the Palace opened. The Royal Heralder rang his handbell from the Royal Balcony at the front of the Palace and the Sovereign Prince walked along the forecourt and into the Palace via the Sovereign’s Door, which opens only on State Occasions.
At 10.26am, the Sovereign Prince appeared on the balcony. Silence reigned, despite a vast crowd. The Prince opened the box and the Royal Heralder lifted the Crown of Princess Alexandra III.

The Royal Heralder once again rang the handbell and cried in a loud clear voice:

“This is the Crown of HSH The Late Princess Alexandra III. We shall crown our Sovereign Princess with this today, as we have crowned so many beloved Monarchs of Old”.

The Sovereign Prince then went through the doors leading into the Balcony Room of the Palace and made his way to the Chapel Royal, where the Marriage Ceremony took place.

At 12.00pm exactly, the couple were declared man and wife, and the Gates of the Palace opened and the Open State Landau went to the foot of the Sovereign’s Door. The Sovereign Prince took his seat and waited, as from the Commoner’s Door, the public saw the first view of their Sovereign Prince’s new wife.

The couple were married, but at this point, the Baroness was known simply as Lady Treisenberg. She was the legal wife of the Sovereign Prince, but she had not been invested as the Sovereign Princess and so, still considered a Commoner, she left the Palace via the Commoner’s Door.

As she entered the Open State Landau, the Sovereign Prince greeted her with a kiss and the crowds once again, went wild. They shouted and waved flags and began cheering, “God Save the Prince!”

The Couple were taken to Vaduz Parade where a platform had been erected for the investiture ceremony. The Royal Heralder followed in the Golden State Carriage carrying the Crown, which was to be placed on the head of the new Sovereign Princess.

As the Crowd gathered around the platform, the sound echoed, as Lady Treisenberg, still in the white wedding dress, swore her loyalty by saying:

“I do solemnly swear, by the Grace of God, that I shall give devoted and unfailing service to the Principality. I swear to uphold it’s laws and it’s values, as Sovereign Princess”

The Royal Heralder then held the Crown above her head, and her lady-in-waiting removed the wedding veil. The Crown was placed upon her head, and The Royal Heralder turned to the crowd and cried:

“Citizens! We have our Sovereign Princess! God Save the Princess!”

As the Couple climbed back into the Open State Landau, the crowds threw roses and the couple waved with wonderful smiles. They climbed out of the Landau back in the Forecourt of Nendeln Palace and both entered through the Sovereign’s Door.

A moment later, and they were on the Balcony together.

The Crowd applauded and cheered as the Royal Heralder proclaimed her full title:

“Her Serene Highness, The Sovereign Princess Alexandra the Fifth, Countess of Korbach and Countess Gonisberg, Viscountess of Naumberg, Marchioness of Dallingen and the Border Lands, Baroness of Hertsberg, Grand Dame of Treisenberg, Countess of Stóra Kalsoy and Countess of Bronnóy, Dame Grand Cross of the Most Illustrious Order of the Valkyrie”

They Waved and took the good wishes of the crowds, as a 100 gun salute fired from the nearby Nendeln Royal Park, and a military band played “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow”, “The Sovereign Prince’s March” and the National Anthem.

They entered the palace and the Royal Heralder closed the doors. The crowds began cheering, “We want the Prince and Princess!” – The doors once again opened, and the Royal Couple waved and smiled as the gun salute continued.

The Crowds began their celebrations, dancing and singing and military bands played. Bands and Singers gave rousing renditions of well-loved songs and as the night grew dark, the Palace glittered with lights from inside. The Royal Ball, held for the Royal Couple was well under way by 7pm, and champagne flowed to toast the newly-weds. At Midnight, the military bands stopped playing and a spotlight appeared on the Royal Balcony. The Doors opened, and the Royal Couple came out in full ceremonial dress, in their crowns and finery, a glass of champagne in their hands. The Royal Guests joined them on the Balcony. All with champagne in hands, they looked to the sky as fireworks filled the air. The Military Bands began playing and the Emperor of Stormark was the first to publicly congratulate the couple, shaking the Sovereign Prince’s hand and kissing the Sovereign Princess on each cheek. Before long, the Royal Balcony was heaving with well wishers from the Government, and foreign diplomats. The Sovereign Prince then shocked everyone. As tradition dictates, His Serene Highness kissed his bride, and those of the Royal Balcony threw gold ribbon into the air. The next move was less traditional. The Guards opened the Gates of Nendeln Palace, and the public moved aside, creating two lines of people, with a long aisle. The crowds, taken aback by this hadn’t noticed the Royal Balcony empty, and a moment later, the Sovereign Prince and Princess, and their Royal Guests were amongst the people, shaking hands, kissing them and waving. As the Military bands played, it seemed the Sovereign Prince was in the mood to dance, and he took the Sovereign Princess in his arms and they waltzed in the open air, as the crash of cymbals and heartbeat of drums filled the atmosphere. People cheered, the mood was electric. Rather taken aback at his lack of a dance partner, the Emperor of Stormark took a very surprised citizen into his arms and began to dance. The public followed the lead, and began to dance and spin as the band struck up the National Dance. As they changed partners, the public were given a chance to link arms albeit for a split second, with their Monarch and his new wife.

At 2am, the Royal Couple returned inside the Palace and appeared for the last time on the Royal Balcony. The Doors closed at 2.12am, the Royal Wedding Day Over.

The Sovereign Prince has confirmed the Royal Title of his future wife.

Following a recent news release that was unconfirmed, His Serene Highness corrected the news service, saying;

"My Wife will hold the title:

Her Serene Highness, The Sovereign Princess Alexandra the Fifth, Countess of Korbach and Countess Gonisberg, Viscountess of Naumberg, Marchioness of Dallingen and the Border Lands, Baroness of Hertsberg, Grand Dame of Treisenberg, Countess of Stóra Kalsoy and Countess of Bronnóy"

The Couple wed on the 17th.

Details of Royal Wedding Released

With the Royal Wedding just days away, a programme of events has been released.

Programme

At 10.00am, HSH The Sovereign Prince will leave Nendeln Palace, and make his way in the Golden State Carriage, to the Castle of Glottsberg.

There, The Sovereign Prince will collect the Princess Alexandra III Crown. It will be driven through the streets and taken back to Nendeln Palace.

HSH will then appear on the balcony and the crown will be displayed to the public.

The Royal Heralder will call;

“This is the Crown of HSH The Late Princess Alexandra III. We shall crown our Sovereign Princess with this today, as we have crowned so many beloved Monarchs of Old”
The Majority of the Marriage Ceremony will take place within the Palace and so will not be seen, but at 12.00pm approximately, the Royal Couple will ride in the Open State Landau and will wave to the crowds for the first time as man and wife, however, The Baroness will not be Sovereign Princess. For this short journey, she is simply Lady Treisenberg. Then, the Royal Couple will be taken to Vaduz Parade, where the investiture of The Baroness will take place.

The Investiture

The Couple will be taken to a raised platform in Vaduz Parade. The Baroness shall then be asked to swear an oath to His Serene Highness, The Sovereign Prince, to Treisenberg and to the people. She shall say:“I do solemnly swear, by the Grace of God, that I shall give devoted and unfailing service to the Principality. I swear to uphold it’s laws and it’s values, as Sovereign Princess”The Crown shall be placed upon her head, and then the Royal Couple will travel back to Nendeln Palace, where they will both appear on the balcony, fully crowned for the first time, as Sovereign Prince and Sovereign Princess.

The Royal Heralder will then make the announcement;

“Citizens! We have our Sovereign Princess! God Save the Princess!”

He shall then announce the full title of the Baroness;

“Citizens, we hereby decree that she be known as Her Serene Highness, The Sovereign Princess Alexandra the Fifth, Princess of Vaduz, Countess of Heideck and Countess Gonnisberg, Viscountess of Eching, Marchioness of Glottsberg, Baroness of Hertsberg, Grand Dame of Treisenberg, Countess of Stóra Kalsoy and Countess of Bronnóy"

At 7pm, there will be a grand ball held and at 12am, the pair will appear again on the balcony for a vast fireworks display. There will be no honeymoon for the couple, following the recent events in San Martin.

The Emperor of Stormark, The King and Queen of Gotzborg and Diplomats from other nations including San Martin and The German Republic will attend.

Sovereign Prince Announces Neutrality

The Sovereign Prince has released an Official Statement on the San Martin-German Republic War.

Released at 10.00am this morning, His Serene Highness said;

"The Principality of Treisenberg will remain entirely neutral during the Martino-German conflict.We shall not aid either Government in any way and will remain impartial.We will seek to make Treaties with both Governments which protect our neutrality"

In Other News, Nendeln Palace has been a hive of activity preparing for the Royal Wedding in two days time. Triesenberg has seen an increase of citizens since the marriage was announced.

The Baroness Von Hertsberg gave her first interview today, which will be released later today.

BREAKING NEWS: Triesenberg will host peace talks

The Baroness Von Hertsberg has just confirmed that it is His Serene Highness's intention to bring peace to the troubled German Republic and San Martin.

This Morning, His Serene Highness The Sovereign Prince made this announcement:

"We have just received confirmation that the German Democratic Republic has attacked the Republic of San Martín to the north.

The attack has come after weeks of tension as San Martín plans to take over the whole of the Cibola continent.

The German Government has stated that this attack was carried out in Self-Defence and to stop growing Martíno imperialism.

The Treisenberger Government is in talks as to how to handle this situation.

Many citizens are pushing for an entrance into the war on the side of the German DR, a nation who's culture is very similar to that of Treisenberg.Only time will tell what will happen. The Martíno Government are yet to make a reply"

The Minister of Defence, Count Von Eching is reported to have called for Triesenberg to remain neutral, and The Baroness Von Hertsberg is said to support this claim. Neither wished to confirm.

Future Sovereign Princess Resigns

The Baroness of Hertsberg has resigned from her position as Lord Stewardess of the Royal Household of Gotzborg.

The Resignation was sent to His Majesty, King August Charles II at 12.33 U.S time, today. It read;

"Your Majesty,After long thought, I have seen fit to resign from my position as Lord Stewardess within Your Majesty’s Royal Household. My duties by marriage in the Principality of Treisenberg and my duties in Stormark, mean that I shall not be able to give my full time to Gotzborg. I have neglected my position in Stormark, and feel that I should honour the position in some way, rather than be a mere title-holder. I shall remain a citizen of Gotzborg but I must step down as Lord Stewardess, a position I have greatly enjoyed.

Stormarkian Honours bestowed on Engaged Couple

The Emperor of Stormark has conferred peerages on HSH The Sovereign Prince, and upon Her Grace, The Baroness Von Hertsberg.

His Serene Highness was made, Earl of Bronnóy and Her Grace was made, Countess of Stóra Kalso.

His Serene Highness made The Emperor, Count of Geshencht, and so within the borders of Treisenberg, The Emperor shall be known as Count Von Geshencht.

In other news, There are rumours that Her Grace, The Baroness Von Hertsberg is to release a statement detailing her future within Stormark and Gotzborg.

The Sovereign Prince announces his Engagement

His Serene Highness, The Sovereign Prince Franz-Joseph III announced his engagement today, from the Balcony of Nendeln Palace.

The announcement was anticipated by some citizens, when Lady Alexandra Lauverman, close friend of the Sovereign Prince, was made a Peeress this morning, just hours before the announcement came that the couple were engaged.

Lady Alexandra Lauverman from Gotzborg, was made; Her Grace, The Baroness of Hertsberg. Sources within the Palace say that the Sovereign Prince proposed to Her Grace, after a celebratory lunch held to congratulate the Baroness on her new position. The lunch was held in the Green Dining Room, in the West Wing of the Palace, and the engagement ring has been confirmed as that previously belonging to the Sovereign Prince's mother, Her Serene Highness, The Late Sovereign Princess Marina, one of her famous Emerald Set.

The Baroness shall be known as Her Serene Highness, The Sovereign Princess Alexandra V of Treisenberg after their wedding, which shall be held on the 17th April, in the Chapel Royal, Nendeln Palace.

His Imperial Majesty, The Viking Emperor of Stormark was amongst the first to congratulate the couple.
